If you want to get approved for the card you should choose it carefully. Check your credit reports and find out your credit score for a start. Since most card are grouped according to the credit history, knowing your credit score will help you to choose the card which is the best fit for you. Also, if you have a checking or savings account or a credit or debit card, it will boost your chances to get approved for the card. Make sure you do not have undischarged bankruptcy, otherwise the issuer may deny your application. Do not apply for credit cards too often because it lowers your chances to get approved: once a month is more than enough.
