First of all, as you decided to apply for a credit card you should know what is credit score and credit history – get educated. Then check your credit score. You can estimate your score or send a request to the one of major credit bureaus – TransUnion, Equifax or Experian. When you know your credit score you know what credit you can apply and the risk of being denied will considerably lessen.
Don’t forget about reports. Check the reports from three credit bureaus as well because they are the base of your credit score. The reports contain information about your credit activity and it is better to notice any inaccuracies, if there are so, and dispute them before it became too late.
Also knowing your credit score you may know on what credit limit you can count. Usually credit limits start from somewhere $200. It is for secured credit cards and bad credit history accordingly. Remember: the higher your credit score, the higher your credit limit.
