Consider applying for a secured credit card. Secured cards have lower rates and fees than general credit cards. Your credit performance will be reported to major credit bureaus and you will be able to improve your credit history if you make on time payments every month and stay within limits. Note that secured cards require a collateral deposit, which usually about $200. Your credit limit will be equal to the deposit.
